CoverFX: Review

The Big Cover Up Kit

I originally heard about this product watching a video from kandee the make-up artist <3.  She was using one of their large compacts as a foundation for one of her Halloween looks (Edward Scissorhands I believe). Although she was using a very white foundation for the look, I noticed how well it covered.

Since I've been having issues with dark circles under my eyes I wanted to try a really good concealer.  I went to their website, but it was very difficult to select the right color for my skintone.  They have a color selector helper on their site but it didn't help me at all.  So I gave up.

Last week I was looking around Sephora (an everyday thing for me) and I saw that Sephora was selling Coverfx and they had a kit.  I ordered the kit for 3 reasons, first I read the reviews and was convinced it was a great product.  Also many women talked about the color choices which helped me decide what to select.  I'm the E Series..which turned out to be perfect for my skintone.

Second, they give you three different shades of coverup in the kit so you can custom match your skintone, which I really liked.  I was thinking I could get a more professional result with multiple colors.

Third, if I didn't like the kit, I could return it to Sephora without any hassles...this pretty much sealed the deal for me.

I think the cost is a bit high, $75.00 but I've very happy with the product.

Review:

First, the product is used more as a foundation than a coverup. You use the products as a highlight, base and contour.  I love the application brush and will probably apply all my foundations with a brush from now on.  The kit comes with a CD (I haven't looked at it yet because there are visual guides on the box) but I might take a look sometime.  This primer is pretty unique.  It's not like other primers (it's not whitish or clear, it's like an olive oil color and feels very smooth and nourishing on the skin..I'm a big fan of this primer).  The setting powder reminds me of my HD Powder from Makeup Forever, feels less like powder...not as drying or dulling.

Overall I'm impressed.  The dimensions the different colors add is great and it covers! Today is the first day I'm wearing it to work and it has stayed so far without creasing or fading.  I'm loving this product. I give it 4 hearts because of the price. I'll post some pics when I get the chance.

Read another review from musings of a muse. I stalk her blog..lots of great reviews.
